How We Work
We provide a range of bespoke Occupational Therapy services for children and adults. These include Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT), upper limb splinting, fine motor skill development, handwriting programmes, stroke rehabilitation and vocational rehabilitation.
Therapy sessions can take place in our well-equipped clinic in Truro, in your own home, within community settings or remotely, depending on individual needs and preferences. For pre-school aged children, therapy is typically delivered at our clinic. Community-based assessments, treatment and follow-up appointments are also available.
For children attending an educational setting, there is the option for the therapist to work directly with the child within their school environment. This allows therapy to be integrated into the school day, supporting meaningful participation and carryover into everyday activities.
Following an initial assessment, the therapist will work collaboratively with you to establish individualised goals and develop a tailored therapy programme designed to meet your specific needs.
Our therapists undertake regular accredited training alongside their specialist qualifications, ensuring practice remains evidence-based, up to date and of the highest clinical standard. This commitment to ongoing professional development allows us to provide a consistently high-quality service for you and your family.
Camila is the founder and clinical lead of South West Therapy, an independent specialist Occupational Therapy service based in Cornwall.
She qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2012 and specialises in paediatrics, with a particular clinical interest in upper limb rehabilitation, upper limb splinting and Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT).
Camila has extensive experience supporting children, young people and adults with a wide range of needs, including neurological, developmental and genetic conditions, sensory processing differences and acquired injuries. Her work focuses on enabling individuals to develop functional skills, confidence and independence across home, school and community environments.

She started as an independent Occupational Therapist in London, supporting a child with complex physical needs both at home and as a one-to-one practitioner within a specialist school setting. During this time, Camila trained in Rebound Therapy and worked closely alongside a highly regarded Bobath Physiotherapist, further developing her clinical expertise in neurodevelopmental rehabilitation.
Camila later joined an NHS children’s community service as a Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist. In this role, she carried out detailed assessments of functional, physical and sensory needs, prescribed specialist equipment and worked collaboratively with families, schools and multidisciplinary teams to support children’s independence and participation in daily life.
She went on to become the clinical lead for a children’s hand clinic in Cornwall and played a key role in service development projects. These included co-initiating and delivering a pilot Constraint Induced Movement Therapy service, developing paediatric upper limb kinesiology taping pathways and establishing an Upper Limb and Hemiplegia Clinic pathway. Since 2015, Camila has also delivered regular training workshops to parents, caregivers and schools, with a focus on sensory processing difficulties and their impact on functional performance.
Alongside her specialist paediatric work, Camila has experience across medical geriatrics, orthopaedics, hand therapy, stroke rehabilitation and community mental health, providing her with a broad and well-rounded clinical foundation.
Camila is known for her professional, compassionate and child-centred approach. Her passion for delivering high-quality, individualised therapy led her to establish South West Therapy Ltd (formerly known as ULOT South West Ltd), offering specialist, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to individuals of all ages across Cornwall.
